at the Academy sports gun counter

Customer: “You have any ARs?”

Salesman: “We got two on the truck Friday but they sold out in about an hour”

Customer: “Mumble mumble”

Salesperson: “No sir, I’m pretty sure it’s not a government ban. It’s just strong demand.”

Blame Mexico

The “US guns are responsible for Mexico Violence” meme just won’t go away.

In fact, based on the below, I’d say some sort of gun ban legislation is on the table inside of 6 months (probably sooner)

why prime time

so, i’m reading this morning how some people are wondering why El Presidente keeps doing these prime time press conferences.

So our interest is to understand — first the natural variability of climate — and then take it from there. So we were very excited when we realized a lot of changes in the past century from warmer to cooler and then back to warmer were all natural,” Tsonis said.

Riding Makes You Smarter

The scientist who invented “Brain Age,” a popular mental training game for the Nintendo DS, has discovered that riding motorcycles can improve cognitive function. Ryuta Kawashima partnered with Yamaha Japan and Tohoku University to study the effects of motorcycle riding on middle-aged men, finding, “In a convenient and easy environment, the human mind and body get used to setting the hurdle low. Our final conclusion is that riding motorcycles can lead to smart ageing.”

On a related note, my bike should arrive with the movers momentarily. YAY!
